I Discovered a 100% DUFF PROOF Way to Chip And It's Scary Good!
I set out to “Duff-Proof” my chipping - and I think I’ve found the way! With some very basic tweaks I was able to craft an easy way to chip that doesn’t require much practice (if at all).
I’ve chipped maybe 100 times since then and haven't duffed one. I like my odds so far. Statistically speaking that’s a 100% Duff-Proof way to chip.

    Great tip, Tom 👍🏻 Chipping is not one of my strengths. I have long 35” arms, so maybe this will help. Can’t wait to try it. I am trying to stand more upright in my full swing too, with promising results. Maybe you’re onto something. Keep throwing out more of these little crispy nuggets. They’re great. 👊🏻

    why do you chip with your grip at the end of the shaft? Most people do it grabing the club at the bottom of the grip? I will try this though. Thank you from Belgium.

      I like the feel of the full club as it is consistent with what I am accustomed to in my full swing. However, there are many individual nuances and personal preferences involved when it comes to chipping. We see it all the time watching Tour events on TV as no two techniques appear to be the same. We need to figure out what works best and most reliably for us, and what I am demonstrating here is a way that I eliminated variables from my stroke to crisp up contact and deliver consistency. I hope it performs well for you!! Tom

Lower right side after my round is real sore I think it might be the tucking of the hips on the follow through and finish maybe I can try more around the body will help don't want to give up on it but it does hurt.

    where’s your weight distribution

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf 3 часа назад

      In the swing system I teach, Allen, we start with our weight forward (generally 55/45 for the short and mid irons, 60/40 for the longer clubs). We achieve this by addressing the ball "stacked", shoulders over hips over knees with our weight balanced 50/50. We then simply bump our hips 1" towards the target while keeping everything else in place. That presets a little more weight forward while retaining the stacked relationship. During the swing we gradually add more forward weight load into the transition (70/30), 80/20 halfway down, 90/10 impact, and 95/5 finish. The upper torso/head - and thus the swing center - remains in place during the increasing forward weight load in the downswing. There's no "weight shift"; instead, it's just a gradually increasing load onto the lead side. And the result is a centered, low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful swing. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom

    My problem is not contact, Tom. I can’t seem to get the distances dialed in. More often than not, I focus so much on good contact, that the ball goes way too far and rolls way past the hole. Many times, leaving me a longer putt than the chip I just had. Just lost my “feel” around the greens…

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf 3 часа назад

      If your contact is consistently crispy, then it all comes down to spending sufficient time around the practice green to get your distances dialed in and perhaps to also experiment with different clubs for different situations. TS

    Great swing! Why dont you follow though all the way? Is this more of a punch or flighted shot?

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf 3 часа назад

      Thanks - I appreciate that!! The stock finish for this swing system does have a somewhat abbreviated look to it because it is simply the result of a very connected, powerful, and body-friendly motion. Have a look at Tommy Fleetwood's finish, for example - he is one of the best ball strikers out there. And there are plenty of others on Tour whose follow-throughs are similar. There's no need for the shaft to whack you in the back, and for many in the amateur ranks that type of loose finish is an indicator of a loss of critical structure somewhere in the swing motion. By the way, with regard to a body-friendly, low-maintenance, powerful swing that produces consistently crispy contact, you can have it too!! After all, it's really just physics and geometry, and those laws apply to the entire universe.... 😎 For an excellent starting point please check out my FREE mini-course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom

      Yep! I am both a Class A PGA Professional and a Certified Stack and Tilt Instructor. Here is the story of my "conversion": ruclips.net/video/PM8lNNrMPEk/видео.html And here is an episode documenting my week at S&T Instructor Camp in Miami: ruclips.net/video/m9qdPOzYUWU/видео.html This body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance Stack and Tilt swing system is designed to provide a lifetime of great ball striking, and since it is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everything in between, and inclusive of the best players in the world. I give all credit where it is due - including Andy Plummer and Mike Bennett for analyzing and interpreting the science, and to those who preceded them with their empirical observations of the game's best ball strikers and all their subsequent chalkboard number-crunching. I just do my best to take what they have built and convey it in my own simplified teaching style, and as a result thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives through my online school's step-by-step lessons and drills, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. Here is a link to - my free mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” if you’re interested in learning some key aspects of this swing system in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/ Tom

      I'm glad to know that this lesson resonated with you, Jesse, and I hope it performs well when you put it into practice! Yes - unfortunately, such sorcery from this dark underworld of golf instruction rarely finds its way to the mainstream because if too many folks found out about it the mainstream would then be rendered irrelevant....... 😎 Consider that despite all the advances in equipment, technology, golf course grooming, etc. the average golfer still struggles to break 100. Epic failures within the realm of modern “conventional” instruction, perhaps??? So many misconstrued and/or misguided teachings - such as taking the club straight back, turning the shoulders level while independently lifting the arms, shifting into and torquing against a firm trail side, firing the hips, actively rolling the hands through impact, etc. - have relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of inconsistency and chronic frustration (and chronic back/knee/hip pain as well). I’m doing my best here to clear these up one by one and put an end to this madness…. Thanks! Tom
